Meet AIS Employee Spotlight Michael Pavis

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I’m a huge nerd when it comes to Archaeology. I love reading about new discoveries around the world or a new piece that can connect the dots to our past!

What is your favorite food? Why did you pick this as your favorite?
Anything spicy. I love challenging my friends on eating hot wings and laughing when they tap out on the first bite.

What gets you out of bed every morning?
My team!! My philosophy is a stress-free environment and always being available when they need me. Donuts don’t hurt either.

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your younger self?
Keep being you! Don’t be anything other than that. Your high energy and smile will take you to the next level.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to work for a non-profit. When I got into Human Resources, everything clicked for me. I can help multiple people find a career each day or change their lives for the better. It’s a very rewarding experience.

What does your morning routine look like?
I watch a lot of motivational videos through some of my favorite mentors (Mostly bodybuilders). Then I power lift in my basement and go for a ride on my Peloton. It gets me ready for work, but it’s also is a great way to clear your head and reset!

Do you have any pets? What are their names and what are they like?
I have two Golden Retrievers. They’re pure comedy. When I’m gone, they will get out of their cages and eat drywall, nose through the trash, etc. I can never get mad!

If you were to write a memoir, what would the title be?
Shenanigan city and how to navigate the drive.

What made you want to work where you’re at now?
The people. I was a customer for 7 years and loved collaborating with Dana Wegzynowski, Jeff Farson, Adam Metz, and David Bishop. If I ever needed anything, they would jump through hoops to make sure I had it. They’re all subject matter experts in wage data and the current climate. It was an easy choice to join a team that took their careers so seriously.

Before working at your current job, what was the most interesting job you had?
When I was younger I worked for a dog groomer. I was in charge of washing all the puppies that came in! Eventually, I had to throw in the towel because it only paid $6.00 an hour. Ok… who am I kidding? I would do it for free.

What do you look forward to most when you walk into work?
My team. I love hearing about their clients and the challenges they may face. Coaching is also a huge part of my life. I love when people run into the problems I ran into when I was fresh in my career. I get excited to share how I overcame certain situations!

What is your favorite thing about your job?
I get pumped every time I do a tour with a client. It helps me better understand their operations and why they do what they do!

What’s unique about the culture at your company?
This is the first company I have been a part of where I can call the CEO, CFO, president, etc, and have a one on one or talk about a challenge I’m having. TalentLaunch truly cares about its people.

What advice would you give to someone looking for a job right now?
Right now is the prime time to reinvent your brand. Day one of your new job/career, ask about all the extracurricular you can take on. Whether that’s reimbursement for higher education or Toast Masters. Beefing up your resume with all the extras will make you stand out against your competition.

What do you find most rewarding about your job?
The people I meet. I love meeting new candidates hungry for a new career. I love getting them motivated for their next opportunity. Also, meeting new clients and helping them grow their business or having tough conversations with them. What I love about my approach is it’s all based on data and what other competitors are doing. It truly makes for a better bond with our clients

What is your proudest moment at your job?
Helping a family get off the street and get into a high-paying career. I’m proud that my company is dedicated to changing lives and helping out people that may be down on their luck. We’ll go out of our way to write resumes, talk about multiple career opportunities, and make sure they’re set up for success. It’s not a numbers game for us. It’s right the first time.
