Understaffed at the Worst Time: How a Seasonal Staffing Crisis Got Solved

Temp industrial staffing for peak season

Background

This American multinational corporation, headquartered in Marysville, Ohio, manufactures and sells consumer lawn, garden, and pest control products.

With a significant manufacturing and distribution presence across the state, the client operates multiple facilities ranging from smaller production locations to large-scale distribution centers — making reliable, scalable workforce solutions a critical part of their operations.

Problem

As peak season approached, the client’s largest facility in Marysville found itself 25 temporary associates short of what it needed to operate at full capacity. Teams were working overtime on weekends to fill the gap. With a seasonal workforce model running October through June, hitting the right staffing numbers at the right time is everything.

The client was working with multiple agencies but running into a consistent roadblock: candidates weren’t clearing background checks, leaving essential general labor and forklift operator roles unfilled and operations under pressure.

Solution

Because our relationship with this client began in 2024, Alliance Industrial Solutions steadily built trust through consistent delivery and open communication, growing into a partner across multiple Ohio locations. So when the Marysville plant’s seasonal crunch hit, they knew exactly who to call.

After assessing the local labor market, Alliance advised the client to increase associate wages from $18-19 to $27 per hour to stay competitive with other employers in the area.

Then we got to work.

Impact/Results

With the recommended wage guidance adopted, the results spoke for themselves:

  • Filled a 25-associate gap during a critical seasonal ramp-up
  • Placed 30-40 associates across general labor and forklift operator roles
  • Achieved a 2-5 day time to fill, clearing background checks and drug screenings
  • Improved associate retention throughout the seasonal program
  • Expanded from one location to three, now serving all of the client’s Ohio facilities

“Jeff has been a great business partner. We are very satisfied with the staffing services provided and would absolutely refer Alliance Industrial Solutions to a friend or colleague.”
